My Favourite Meats

Some other bloggers have picked up on this latest nannying to come from the WWF of all people, about how we should only eat red meat three times a week add to this the asshats at PETA with their 'Meatless Mondays'. It seems like us omnivores are the next endangered species after smokers , drinkers et.al.
Now I don't eat red meat every day, much of this is due to cost at present, but also because it gets boring.
But I am sick and tired of these do-gooding, 'we know best' societies, telling me what I can and can't eat , drink, smoke , shoot up etc. Please just sod off and leave us alone.

So in a spirit of 'two fingers up to the lot of you' listed below are my top ten favourite meats.
Links will take you to either where I feel I've had the best, who makes the best IMHO or some other info (NB. All steaks referred to will have been aged properly between 14- 21 days )

1. Kobe Steak
2. T-Bone Steak
3. Rib Eye Steak
4. Filet Mignon
5. Dry Cured Smoked Back Bacon
6. Full Slab BBQ Baby Back Ribs
7. Braised Lamb Shank in rosemary gravy.
8. Wild Roe Deer
9. Black & White Pudding
10. Chicken Yakkitori

That's it, I'm off for a bacon sandwich.

  1. Quite fucking right, I hate nannying "authorities", they'll be as much the end to our freedom as the politicians.

  2. Yes I agree. I love well hung meat (can I say that? 28 days from my local butcher who's always complaining about the latest rules ‘n’ regs to come out of the EU trying to stop him hanging meat on his premises, which funnily enough seems to segway quite appropriately to supermarkets to sell their slimy, grey chicken breasts) but don’t eat it every day, sometimes waiting for a weekend mainly due to costs.

Not tried Kobe steak – I’ve read about it many times, will definitely try it!

Like you Pavlov, failed relationships are a PITA! And expensive!

  3. BoGbG You may well have to get yourself to Japan for Kobe Beef , it's pretty strict registered trademark ( see the link) and not a lot leaves the country and when it does, it is seriously expensive.
You can get what is advertised as Kobe-style beef in the UK , or more often more now called Wagyu Beef it is raised in the UK to the same style.
