A mob then surrounded the officers as they struggled to control the girl and they were pushed to the ground and punched, kicked and stamped on. At one point the girl jumped on the back of one officer and bit him on the shoulder. Fearing for their lives the officers called for back-up and the teenager was brought under control only when CS gas was sprayed directly in her face.

"who cannot be named for legal reasons" is the biggest load of utter bullshit. Why not? Feral kids like this need to be named and ridiculed. Animals like this need to banged up.

Mark - I doubt she will even turn up for that, she has been shown there are no consequences even to the most violent actions even an attack on Police which used to be one of the great taboo's. she wants to be a 'social worker' as well, I hope this is just defence ploy by her brief, because we don't need someone else telling people it's all societies fault and they are not to blame for anything.
ReplyDeleteJulia - I'm sure reports had to be written and the event investigated to make sure the Police hadn't thrown themselves at this young girl and her 40 odd chums thus preventing their 'uman rights' to behave like scum in a suburban shopping street.
I seem to recall a lack of detail in the reports at the time that suggested that this might be a case of Attackers Of No Appearance, so it might have been delayed for the sake of community cohesion.
The worrying thing to me is that her anger control is so non-existent, how long before she stabs someone up for another perceived slight.

ReplyDeleteI was trying to show the disparity between the Judges harsh summing up and the plainly ridiculous sentencing, which does nobody any favours not least the girl in question.
