Momiji

Or The Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum)

Being as I am once again bereft of inspiration and as most of the newspapers are also printing pictures of autumn colours, I thought I'd dip into my own archive.

Momiji watching is big in Japan and there are reports on TV as to where you can see the best colours as the Autumn moves down the country. (Similar to Sakura time or Cherry Blossom watching in the Spring)

One of the best places is Kyoto where these pictures were taken. (I may add more as the week goes on.)

As always click the picture for a larger version.

  2. They are stunning pictures!

We've got a small bed of different types of mini acers in the garden, and they are just as colourful as their larger cousins.

  3. JH -I'm afraid not, I was able to manage taxi , bar and food, but even that's pretty rusty now. The Ex-bitch was pretty fluent so she tended to handle the more complicated stuff if needed.

Work was pretty much in English as the common toungue (German Investment Bank, it was like the United Nations)

JM - They are very pretty, was thinking of going for them if I ever get my own place again, rather than the trees.

    Incoming - I did wonder

  4. PC have you got any good cherry blossom pics?

I love that place, stepping out of my hotel and into the deer park and paying for a tile to be placed on the Buddha's temple roof, the deer eating from my hand.

I'm off to post up some horses' bums.

  5. I do have some nice cherry blossom pics somewhere. But they seem not to be on the external hard drive. Fear not though they are on a CD ROM back up somewhere.
You will have to wait till may next year though , I'm not going out of season
