Writer: "Great news guys, I've got permission from AA Milne's family for my new Winnie The Pooh story."

Publishers:"Yeah, that's great. But we've been looking at the story and we don't feel it's inclusive enough in this day and age "

Writer: "But all the characters are there"

Publishers: "Yes, but it's what isn't there, look you've got; Winnie the Pooh who obviously has an eating disorder, Piglet - Special Needs, Eeeyore - Mental Illness, Kanga - Working Mother, Roo - Latch Key Kid, Tigger - Camper than a row of tents, Owl - The wise authority figure and finally Christopher Robin who represents The State who comes in and fixes everything, it's a metaphor for modern Britain.
But where's the Giiiiirl Power and the Ethnic Diversity?"

Writer:"How about Debbie the Deer?"

P:"Too Walt Disney we don't want to get sued and we were thinking perhaps of a 'browner' animal."

W:"Bertha the Black Bear?"

P:"Too 'Brown', she needs to be more 'Tan' to reflect the national demographic."

And so ladies and gentlemen after many meetings fixing what isn't actually broken, but a bit too 1926, may I present to you.

I believe Michael this is known as The Poochie Effect or The Scrappy Doo Paradigm

I am not anti-progress , but this is not progress this is revisionist meddling. If want a new story write a new one yourself, don't piggy back yourself on writers 10X as talented as you, to force your PC agenda on children, whilst pissing on adults childhood memories.

What is it with the Righteous and 'Progressives' in this country that they must continuously tinker with the past in the hope that it reflects their world view of the present. I think it's because they haven't got an original idea in their heads and as people are beginning to reject their 'Present' agenda, they feel by changing the 'Past' they can somehow make their 'Future' more acceptable to the proles.
