One hell of a quandary
On Film 4 at 9.00pm we have
But on ITV4 at 9.00pm there’s
Well as the man said “There can be only one”
So I’ll be PVR’ing Equilibrium
BTW Is it just me that watches movies on TV that they already own on DVD (even sometimes staying up until the wee hours)

No PC you are not alone. It is something to do with the "live" transmission. :-)
Nope.
I can never not watch Gladiator, any Star Wars film, or, and this is a long one, Shawshank Redemption.
It's a curse.
CR.
Equilibrium for me tonight, ITV 3 and 4 often repeat a film the following night (eg Rambo) for a good while.
It'll be Equilibrium for me; I've seen them both - perhaps unsurprisingly given both films vintage - but Highlander never really struck a nerve with me.
As for watching on TV, films which you own on DVD, absolutely, it's almost as though you're somehow 'sharing' the experience when it's being watched on TV. You also get your coffee/toilet/whisky breaks when on the TV.
Thank you all, I'm glad I'm not alone (I wonder if it's a bloke thing?)
@Captain Ranty
Yes indeed The Shawshank Redemption , I've frequently sat up till 2.00am on a 'school night' watching that on TV

No, it isn't just you. We think it's normal.
