Two for One day today, not only is it St George’s Day but also the anniversary of the Bard of Avon’s passing, a man who added more to the English language than any other.

There seems to be a bit of confusion over whether it's been 'moved' to May 2nd or not...
Julia , I assume you mean the parades and such like ? not the actual Feast Day of Saint George which is immoveable. That's not unusual most Paddys Days parade are on the closet Sunday to 17/03. I suppose with it being Easter Sunday, Jebus has to get top billing.
