We all know that local newspapers love to dig up some relevant local neighbourhood connection to a ‘national event’ to give it some local flavour for local people to make them ‘feel part of it’ locally. [Too many ‘local’s’ Ed.]
Who can forget the Michael Jackson Almost Stayed Here story from 2009
Once again The News Shopper comes up trumps
Lewisham Horses To Feature In Grey Escort During Royal Wedding Procession
A Horse that lives locally that will lead the Grey Escort (or maybe not)

My Local rag goes to fantastic lengths to make a national connection... at least it did. I haven't read a newspaper for months now local or national but I suspect that somewhere within one of this weeks editions the North West Evening Mail will make some 'local' Royal wedding connection.
I almost had a leak in Brummieland.

There's another one in the News Shopper about a couple from Orpington who got married on the same day as William and Kate. I think I'll get in touch with the paper and tell them that I had a poo the same day as William and would they like a photo of me on my throne.
