They’ve Given The Little Bastards A Statue

Which little bastards?

These little bastards

Actually it is a series of five showing ‘Creatures to be found in the wood’ I’ve only seen the squirrel, snail and parakeet so far.

But I bet the fourth or fifth does not represent the most common animal found in the wood, no, not the Common Cider Drinking Slade Green Hoodie, but not far removed.
Yes it’s our old friend Rattus norvegicus

They are so prevalent, the local primary school adjacent to the woods gets the kids to call them ‘ground squirrels’ in the style of calling insects ‘mini beasts’ I suppose to stop them being ‘scary’.

Still it is nice to see in a time of cuts my Council Tax being used for such a good cause and I for one next time Bexley Council announce another round of cuts to services, will not be attending the council offices with an 8x10 glossy of a print of one of the above pictures all folded into sharp points to shove where the sun don’t shine.
