Yes this is becoming a feature it seems
Whilst other countries are treated to burgers with a bit of a ‘Wow’ factor ,Most notably Japan it seems. (But not just Japan , keep reading to the bottom) we here in the UK are left with the McDonalds Festive Deluxe, which was neither Festive, nor Deluxe.
As has been reported elsewhere, the burger chain Wendy’s is to re-enter the Japanese market with a range of premium burgers, most notably the
Fois Gras Rossini
(feat. fois gras & truffle terrine)

Not for you? Ok, How about;
The Avocado Wasabi

Still no? Are you sure I can’t tempt you with a;
Truffle & Porcini Grilled Chicken

No again? Well you’re a hard person to please, so lets go for a plain Ol’
Chilli Burger

On a side note , Wendy’s are my favourite burger chain, the fries are awesome, They made a brief showing in the UK in the 80’s in London, however the franchise was owned at the time by Whitbread breweries, who realised they could make more of a profit margin by selling a flat loaf of bread with tomato sauce and rubber cheese on top for £10.00 to mug punters and so converted the few outlets into Pizza Huts, For that reason I have not to this day set foot in a Pizza Hut ( Well that and I just don’t like pizza)
However, not to be outdone in signature burgers it seems our continental cousins have entered the fray for featured burgers.
To celebrate the launch of Star Wars Episode 1 in 3D , Quick( a Benelux franchise) are celebrating with the below.

Can’t wait for that?
How about on the 30th January

Wow, Wendy's! If only I'd been in Japan long enough to need a burger! Belgium looks like a second best.
We have good burgers in the UK but not in fast food restaurants. Although I did have a tasty Chicken Mayo from Maccy D's the other day. The best thing was that it was mostly mayo.
Hey Blue
Very true I've had some good burgers in the UK but always in a restaurant. (Although some miss the point and are to dense and 'meaty')
I must get over to Belgium , the Strong Bacon calls to me, indulging both my love of bacon and burgers.
I love the added touch of 'bacon bits' in the bun for added baconyness
Only veggie burgers for me, I'm afraid.
PC, oh God, you are spoiling us for choice again...
can I have an Avacado Wasabi and a Chilli Burger please?
PS. Pizza Hut is shit. Pizza Express is the best chain.
Oooo, get you - all la-de-da now. Simple burgers and fries not good enough for you, eh? In our day, we had it toof.
The Strong Bacon burger for me, please.
I regularly went to the Wendy's in Oxford Street as their square-patty burgers were the only chain-franchise burgers that tasted meaty to me.
Wendy's always seemed to be doing good business so I was surprised as well as disappointed when they vanished; there was no shortage of custom, always a queue, but to speed things up for the customers they started having pretty young women taking orders from the people queuing - certainly made the short wait more worthwhile.
By way of contrast, I last had a McDonalds in 1993 and haven't been back since - that isn't because their stuff is filling.
I miss Wendy's and those wonderful square burger patties. And the bewildering range of toppings you were invited to explicitly choose from, at least on their first of two attempts to establish a foothold in London. I think that's what those assistants working along the queue were mostly about. Us Brits found the level of choice difficult to get our heads round.
Come back uncle Dave, all is forgiven.
I cannot rest until I've had a coal-black burger bun!
And now I'm hungry and, as the saying goes, can't be satisfied - thanks PC.
A propos Wendy's, half the fun was filling in the suggestions cards, with the all time winner (in my reckoning) being 'If you killed fewer trees to print these cards there'd be more wood to put in the hamburgers'.
