Pathetic. When visiting a knocking shop or any other premises where embarrassing questions might arise, the wise punter always carries a prop to support his get-out story. A clipboard is almost universally effective. Or if respectably dressed but travelling light, a couple of copies of the Watchtower will do the trick.
