Spel Chek Brok Agin?

For some reason you always expect better from The Daily Telegraph,  I don’t know why, being as they were one of the first to outsource Sub Editing to what appears to be barely literate bogans in The Land of Wonder.

But it still disappoints all the same.

Standard Orbit Captain

I’m sorry but this made my inner geek give a little  ‘Squeeeeeee!!!!’

William Shatner tweets at astronaut, who replies from space

It's the future "Star Trek" predicted. Here's Captain Kirk (OK, OK, William Shatner, who played him) sending a quick message to a man in space – Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield, who's on the International Space Station -- who then replies, from space, to confirm that he is in fact, in space.

Government To Launch ‘Tokyo Care Pathway’

The Government will announce later today the launch of a new initiative for the elderly to be called the ‘Tokyo Care Pathway’

A Senior Aide at the Ministry for Health Mr De’Ath explained :

We all know that times are tight and the elderly are feeling the pinch most of all, it has been reported that sometimes they have to choose between food and heat, The Government feels their pain, but not of course literally.

What has been decided is that anyone over the age of 65 will be given a free daily rice cake, these are also known as Mochi. These are very filling and will provide a much needed carbohydrate boost to help keep core body temperature up and save them having to resort to eating cardboard at least until tea time.

The move has widespread support amongst all Political Parties.

When asked for a comment a Senior Government Minister [who did not wish to be named] described the initiative as;  “A fantastic step forward ”

Meanwhile in overseas news

Japanese Authorities appeal to elderly to be careful when eating 'mochi'

Last year on New Year’s Day, emergency services in Tokyo took 13 elderly people to hospital after they choked on the “mochi.” Two of them died.

Happy New Year–A Time To Take Chances?

A very Happy New Year to all my reader

Lets try an all be excellent to one another again this year.

For me personally , been a hectic year new job and all , but now am 14 months in and feel I have my feet, if not safely under the table, at least without the thought that my chair is going to be whipped from under me as I sit down.

Unfortunately I am at the age now where I go to more funerals than weddings, so perhaps it is time to take a few more chances than I have of late, be a bit more tolerant,  not so grumpy. Well we’ll see.

Chances – Athlete  [ No apologies for the video still one of the best Dr Who episodes eva]
